Counts were recorded up to 19/6 (when peak of 22) and again from 17/9 (peak then of 10 on 21/9). Noted only from the garden where a total of 29 were trapped on 24 dates between 22/9 and 14/11, with singles most nights but a peak of five on 28/9. It will be interesting to see what effect there is in 2001 of having cut down most of the Leylandii in the garden.

Conistra ligula (Dark Chestnut)
As with the previous species, the lack of early-year records was due in part at least to the lack of a moth trap until March. However, the species was trapped in the garden on 12 dates between 12/10 and 23/12, mostly singles but two on two dates.
